LeRoy leads the vision and long-term direction of Brilliant Borders, with a focus on developing leaders, strengthening the company’s systems, and building the team needed for continued growth. Alongside Kirstin, he has helped transform Brilliant Borders from a small decorative edging business into a full-service landscape design, build, and maintenance company serving the Des Moines metro.

LeRoy is passionate about developing people, challenging traditional ways of doing business, and creating meaningful career opportunities within the landscape industry. He also co-hosts The Green Grind Podcast, where he connects with other landscape professionals and business owners to share ideas, experiences, and lessons from the industry.

Outside of work, LeRoy enjoys traveling, live music, sporting events, and spending time with Kirstin and their family.

With more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, and client relations, Kirstin leads the company’s growth strategy, including revenue planning, brand positioning, client experience, and
long-term market development.

She also leads Brilliant Borders’ People Pillar, working closely with the Operations Team to recruit, develop, and prepare the company’s future workforce. Kirstin is passionate about creating meaningful career paths, developing strong crew leaders an

For Kirstin, growth is about more than building a successful landscaping company. It is about developing people, creating opportunities, and protecting the people-first culture that has shaped Brilliant Borders from the beginning.

Outside of Brilliant Borders, Kirstin and LeRoy are getting used to the empty-nester chapter of life and enjoy spending time with their four young adult children—Jacob, Lauren, Allie, and Carson—as well as their parents.

Together, they enjoy traveling, attending MLB and NFL games, scuba diving, concerts, and local live music and events. Kirstin also enjoys hiking, cycling and has a longtime passion for strength training.

Rocky brings years of experience working with builders, developers, and homeowners to create beautiful, functional outdoor spaces. At Brilliant Borders, he focuses on building strong relationships through quality service, clear communication, and attention to detail. Outside of work, Rocky enjoys sprint car racing, traveling, fishing, hunting, attending wrestling events, and spending time working on his family farm.

Katelynn serves as the Business Operations & Client Services Manager at Brilliant Borders Landscaping, where she helps keep daily operations organized, supports our team, and ensures clients receive a positive and responsive experience from the first conversation through project completion.

She takes pride in creating efficient processes, supporting strong communication, and helping both clients and team members feel well cared for.

Outside of work, Katelynn enjoys traveling, reading, and playing D&D with friends. She is also a proud dog mom to two Gerberian Shepskies, Raaz and Kaiba, who can often be found following her around the office.

Jason has been part of the Brilliant Borders Landscaping team since 2019 and serves as our Senior Design Project Consultant. He works with residential and commercial clients to understand their goals and guide them through landscaping, hardscaping, outdoor living, property maintenance, and snow and ice management.

Jason is especially passionate about snow operations, equipment, technology, and building long-term client relationships through honest communication and reliable service.

Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, coaching his son’s hockey team, taking family trips to Disney World, and relaxing with a good cigar and bourbon.

Christian helps clients turn their outdoor ideas into practical, well-planned projects. Before moving into the consulting side of the business, he worked hands-on building outdoor living spaces, giving him a strong understanding of how projects come together in the field. That experience allows Christian to provide practical recommendations, accurate proposals, and clear guidance from the initial consultation through project approval.

Lisa brings more than 40 years of customer service experience to Brilliant Borders. She helps qualify incoming leads, supports the sales team, and keeps clients informed throughout their experience with the company. Known for being friendly, organized, and dependable, Lisa takes pride in making sure clients, vendors, and team members feel welcomed and well supported.

Armando serves as the Production Manager at Brilliant Borders Landscaping. He has spent 12 years with Brilliant Borders and brings 22 years of experience in the lawn and landscape industry.

He oversees project production, working closely with our teams to ensure projects are completed to our standards, reflect our core values, stay on budget, and provide a positive experience for our clients. With extensive hands-on experience in hardscapes, retaining walls, patios, and landscape construction, Armando takes pride in seeing a project come together from start to finish.

Outside of work, Armando enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, horseback riding, attending Mexican rodeos, and working on his family’s farm in Mexico.

Ben serves as the Site Maintenance Manager at Brilliant Borders Landscaping and has five years of experience in the lawn and landscape industry. He leads our exterior site maintenance team in caring for and protecting our residential and commercial clients’ investment in their properties.

Ben takes pride in building long-term client relationships, maintaining high standards, and delivering consistent, reliable service throughout the seasons.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys spending time with his fiancée and two boys and working on projects around the house.
